African Safari

6035 contacts. My mind wanders the world, but my heart belongs to Africa. I am still in South-Africa for another 2 weeks. This weekend my family and I visited the World famous Kruger National Park for a mini safari. Since childhood it has been a family tradition to go on camping trips to this wild life sanctuary located a mere 100km from our homestead. I must have been to this park more that 100 times before my travels started, but I never appreciated more that this weekend. Seeing the wide open spaces and coming face-to-face with majestic creatures that we share this world with has never been more enchanting. I realized the privilege we have in South Africa to be so close to this. Added to my privileges is the fact that my family have since my travels started, been involved in training as voluntary honorary rangers. This involves being trained in wildlife recognition, archeological formation and wildlife conservation while also partaking in projects to maintaining and improving the park standards. We did not pass a tree, bird, animal or interesting rock formation without having my queries fully answered by in-house experts.

Take a peek at my photo’s at this link…..

I’m looking forward to my next McGuire course starting in three days. My hart is also pounding an extra beat for today my name will be in a wide-spread South African news paper, Beeld. I had an interview on Monday past with a sparkling reporter who shares my determination that news of the McGuire course should reach other stutterers. If it had not reached me through this medium, then the Talking Traveller would have never been born.

2 - Hey Hein!!
